And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. (Matthew 22:37, ESV)
We hear this scripture quoted all the time. Do we actually know what it means to love Him with all our heart, soul and mind? If you love someone, you will go out of your way to please them. When you have loved someone for so long, sometimes you begin to go through the motions and make less of an effort to show them how you really feel.
If you have been a Christian for years, it becomes easy to forget about that initial feeling of love you had for Jesus. It’s not that you love Him any less, it’s just that you forget how important it is to treat every time you enter his presence like it was the first time. Make sure you take time each day to tell Him how much he means to you and express your gratitude.
Prayer: Lord, I love you so much. I love how you love me even when I make so many mistakes. Thank you for your forgiveness time and time again. In Jesus name, amen.
