“Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set” (Proverbs 22:28 KJV).

Watching beautiful flames in the fireplace one evening found me sharing time with family and friends who have had a godly influence in my life. We were reminiscing the precious truths we were taught from the beginning of our experience with the Lord. Our elders taught us to remain faithful and loyal to truth and not to weaken or compromise the landmarks placed in our lives, for these last days.

God’s word provides wisdom, boundaries, and insight for each day of our lives. Boundaries, fences and hedges are established for the protection of a land or home.

When you remove fences and borders, all sorts of havoc reigns. Boundaries provide definition and security. Daily, our culture cries out for the compromise and moving of boundaries in our lives. Without training in the Word, many are caught up in alluring messages to compromise and compliance with less-than-Biblical ideals.

In the absence of Biblical conviction, people go the way of culture. To live a balanced life, we must be women who are seeking the heart of Jesus, the truth of scripture, and the teachings of those who have lived a proven life.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5 KJV).

To hear God’s voice requires time with Him, and seeking wisdom from Him.

“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy” (James 3:17 KJV)
