“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:2
I came across a poem recently that I had carried in my Bible for many years. I have often quoted it to myself when going through a trial or facing a problem. Because it is probably still under copyright (even though it was written in 1955), I do not want to quote the whole poem here. It was written by Mildred Allen Jeffrey, and is titled “Behind the Burden.”
It speaks of how we sometimes hide our burdens behind a smile, and crush back the anguish and heartache. But the author said she had found a better way, that no trial was to great to bring to the Lord, and when we give it Him, he lifts the burden, soothes the heartbreak, and takes away the pain. The last verse reads like this: “And wonder of wonders, the heart that was breaking, the pain that was hurting, the trial Is no longer my burden—but His, and my portion is gladness , and joy, and a smile.
How many times I have proved this. No matter how rough the road, no matter what we are going through, Jesus is waiting for us to give it to Him. Our circumstances may not change as quickly as we would like, but the load is now on His shoulders, and we can rejoice in the fact that He will work everything out for His good.
Prayer: Thank you Jesus that you are willing to carry all our burdens when we turn them over to you and walk in faith, waiting for the victory.

Amen, how beautiful that His yoke is easy and His burdens light, and He lovingly takes up all our sorrows and He always steps in ton our lives and relieves us of every weight too heavy for us.
