Philippians 3:20

“But we are citizens of heaven where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for Him to return as our Savior.”

Have you ever had one of those days where you think to yourself “I cannot wait for heaven!” Everything seems to fall apart before your very eyes, and you dream of a home far beyond the sky. A place where mansions glisten, and there is perfect peace.

There will be no sorrow there, and no tragedy. No more devastation and loss of loved ones. No more fear of sending our children out the door to school, and no more worry, guilt or shame.

I long for the day when sin has no hold anymore, and darkness does not run rampant. I crave the rest and solitude that we will experience sitting at the feet of Jesus.

Are you looking forward to heaven today? He is preparing a place especially for you!

Lord, today I am thankful for hope. Hope, that this isn’t all there is to look forward to. But that you are preparing a place for me, and it is absolutely and wonderfully perfect.
