“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” Psalm 37:25

David faced a lot of things in his life, but no matter what he was going through, he always gave his best to God. And God was always there for him, meeting his needs, and giving him the victory over his enemies. He spoke many times of seeking God in prayer, early in the morning and throughout the day.

One thing that I learned early in life was that our first fruits belonged to God, and that if we would be faithful in tithes and offerings, the Lord would meet every need that we had. For many years when our family was young, we lived from paycheck to paycheck. There were many times when we struggled, but we always paid our tithes first, and the Lord always helped us to live on the rest. Our children did not have everything they wanted, but they have no memories of going hungry or not having clothes to wear.

Like David, I can say that the Lord has never forsaken us. He has always been there to meet every need and to bless us in so many ways. I remember so many instances when He came through with what we needed just at the right time. Truly, He has been a loving heavenly Father, and I am so thankful for all the blessings He has bestowed upon our family. Through the years we learned that we could trust Him and that we would never be forsaken.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your faithfulness, for pouring out your blessings on us, both spiritual and financial. How wonderful it is to look back and realize that we were never forsaken, and that we could fully trust you to meet every need.
