So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.Psalm 90:12.
Time is no respecter of persons. It has no judgment on age, gender, profession, or social status. Each day we are given equal measures of 24 hours, which breaks down to 1,440 minutes—86,400 seconds.
What will you do with it?
One day we will be held accountable for the time God has gifted us and I desire to be a good steward of each minute. However, becoming busy and overwhelmed with tasks is not the answer to productivity. Sometimes it is in the simple and quiet moments we spend with God that becomes so vital to accomplishing His purpose.
What is something small you can do today that will get you one step closer to your dream? Your calling? Your life’s mission?
I encourage you to write down specific goals—God dreams—and then create a plan regarding the things you need to complete each day to get you one step closer.
Each day matters.
Each moment matters.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for giving me another day to worship You. Just as Your word directs, I pray that You would teach me to number each day—I desire Your wisdom. I do not want to squander the time You have gifted me, so I pray You will help me fulfill what You are calling me to achieve. In Jesus name. Amen.
“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” Psalm 27:14
How can we be courageous in waiting?
Relinquishing our control can be such a struggle because it is human nature to desire immediate action and instant gratification. It is an arduous responsibility to abandon our dreams, our desires and our plans to God. When we control our day, we can anticipate a general outcome. But, when we allow God to control our day, He does what He wants when He wants. Scary, isn’t it? This is where a courageous heart is necessary.
God does not require us to comprehend the elaborate details; He expects us to abandon our control, follow His guidance, obey His voice, and be confident in His plan.
Waiting on God is proof of trust because our flesh reacts to waiting.
What is God asking from you today? Are you questioning the process and uncertain of the end result? God is imploring you to be courageous by waiting on Him. You have an assurance today; God will strengthen your heart. You will never encounter regret when you step out in faith to follow God’s plan for your life and you will never be disappointed when you trust Him with the details of your life.
Prayer: Sometimes it is so difficult for me to be patient and to relinquish control to You, Lord, but I pray that You will help me to wait on You. You see my weaknesses and I desire Your strength to permeate every area of my life. I love you, Lord. Today, I will be courageous and wait on You!
“Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: And in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.” Psalm 51:6
Every meaningful friendship achieves its depth from sharing in one another’s failings, successes, dreams, and goals. It’s amazing how quickly relationships build when people’s walls are down, and they become vulnerable with each other.
To acquire intimacy with God, we need to be exposed in His presence. He desires truth in the inward parts. Your creator knows every detail of your life, but He desires for you to express to Him what you are feeling, what moves you to tears, and what your dreams are.
So many times in a state of brokenness we want to hide from God, but your experience will prove that if you bring your pain to Him, then He will draw you closer to Himself. Share your heart with God today, you can trust Him.
Prayer: Lord, break down the walls I have built in my life. Help me to understand that you will never leave me or forsake me. Help me to know that you care more about my situation and life than I do. Teach me to know Your wisdom.
