“For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.” (Romans 9:17, NKJV) Earlier this summer, I awoke with a feeling of intense gratitude and overwhelming sense of humility that God choses to use…
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths,” Proverbs 3:6 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible. Make Jesus the navigator of your life! You can trust His ability to chart your course and direct your path every day.
Pray with me: Lord Jesus, I recognize how much I need Your wisdom and guidance. I submit to Your will today and make the commitment that I will follow wherever You lead me. Amen.

“Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.” (Psalm 37:5) This verse is quite simple, give everything you have to God, trust Him, and then because of these actions – He will help you. It seems like a no-brainer but how often do we…
“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called the trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified” (Isaiah 61:3).…
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him…” (Psalm 37:7 ESV) I have a really hard time sitting still. I feel like I always have to be doing something, whether it’s cleaning or working on a project, I need to feel like I’m being productive. So, when I…
Luke 1:38 “And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.” I believed when I reached a certain age in life that I would finally be in the will of God. I would possibly be ministering,…
I am sensing that God is leading me into a new season. A deeper place of trust and intimacy. During this process I’ve definitely experienced some frustration. A feeling of not being quite sure where to go next, what to do next. But at the same time, I have felt…
I’ve talked to several people in the last few months that are in tough situations. Problems with their finances, their children, their marriages, addictions, you name it. What has shocked me in every instance is their lack of desperation. They’re complaining, crying, and even asking for help…but they really don’t…
“By reason of breakings they purify themselves.” (Job 41:25 in the King James Version of the HOly Bible)
Most often, God uses those people and things which are perfectly broken for His glory. The sacrifices He accepts are broken and contrite hearts. It was when the poor widow broke the seal of the little pot of oil, and poured it forth, that God multiplied it to pay her debts and supply means of support.
It was when Esther risked her life and broke through the rigid etiquette of a heathen court, that she obtained favor to rescue her people from death. It was when Mary broke her beautiful alabaster box, rendering it henceforth useless, that the pent-up perfume filled the house.
And thus, on and on, through history, and all biography, and all vegetation, and all spiritual life, God must have BROKEN THINGS.
Prayer: Those who are broken in wealth, and broken in self-will, and broken in their ambitions, and broken in their beautiful ideals, and broken in worldly reputation, and broken in their affections, and broken often times in health; those who are despised and seem utterly forlorn and helpless, the Holy Ghost is seizing upon and using for Your glory, O Lord. My heart cries out for You to work these things in me until I am a vessel You can use. Amen.
