worry“What I’m trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God’s giving.”  (Luke 12:29 in The Message Bible)

This time of year there is lots of laughter, music, fun and happy children, but there are also many suffering from a disease called worry.  It plagues its patients with gloom and doom and takes the joy out of the season for its victims.

In a book written by Corrie ten Boom entitled, “The Hiding Place,” she makes a profound statement.  She writes, “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.”  I totally agree.

I have observed people who are obsessed with worry and you can physically see their strength waning.  The truth is most of the things we worry about never happen.

I’m glad the Word of God has a remedy for this dreaded disease.  Relax!  God’s got it all under control.  You don’t have to worry about one thing!

Prayer:  Lord, I praise You for bringing joy into our world.  Help me to leave my life in Your hands!  Amen.
