Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? (Matthew 6:30, KJV)

Jesus said not to be anxious about anything food, body, or clothing related.

Have you noticed though, how society screams at us daily: “Be anxious about all things food, body, and clothing related! You need prettier food! A prettier body! Prettier clothes! You’re incomplete, damaged, and a bundle of imperfections!” And they scramble to sell us goals and products and styles that will fix our flaws and relieve our anxiety. They never tell us the truth, that buying all the things will only leave us more anxious and needing more.

Matthew 6 is a goldmine of wisdom. Jesus’ question, “Are you not much more…?” answers the anxieties He knew every generation would face for one reason or another. Some faced scarcity and needed provision. Others would face overabundance and need restraint to rise above the trap of endless ideals. Whichever you might be in…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’re more than a body.
More than the food you eat.
More than the clothes you wear.
More than a comparison to someone else’s apparent perfection.
More than accomplishments.
More than education level.
More than relationship status.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Philippians 4:6 gives us the freedom to say, “I refuse to be anxious for that.” In Him, we have the freedom to refuse the expectations of a shallow, short-sighted society.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He calls us to let Him provide.
Let Him guide.
Let Him identify.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The struggle is unavoidable, but that question, “Are you not much more…?” is here for all of it. You already know the answer, but answer it anyway.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You’re a living soul.
Created in God’s image.
Infinitely valued.
Loved to death.
