Wait, Courageous Heart

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” Psalm 27:14

The days of waiting a week for a package is over and dial-up internet is only something people over the age of 30 remember. We now live in a world of Amazon Prime with same day shipping and 5G fast-speed internet. The efforts of 21st-Century businesses is making the process of waiting obsolete and that mindset has influenced our approach to God.

There is a  plethora of scriptures that command us to wait, and even though the world is advancing, God still requires us to trust Him and the process of waiting.

Relinquishing our control can be such a struggle because it is human nature to desire immediate action and instant gratification.

It is an arduous responsibility to abandon our dreams, our desires and our plans to God. When we control our day, we can anticipate a general outcome. But, when we allow God to control our day, He does what He wants when He wants. Scary, isn’t it? This is why a courageous heart is necessary.

So, how can we be courageous in waiting?

God does not require us to comprehend the elaborate details; He expects us to abandon our control, follow His guidance, obey His voice, and be confident in His plan.

Waiting on God is proof of trust because our flesh reacts to waiting.

What is God asking from you today? Are you questioning the process and uncertain of the end result? God is imploring you to be courageous by waiting on Him.

You have an assurance today; God will strengthen your heart.

You will never encounter regret when you step out in faith to follow God’s plan for your life and you will never be disappointed when you trust Him with all of the details.

Prayer: Sometimes it is so difficult for me to be patient and to relinquish control to You, Lord, but I pray that You will help me to wait on You. You see my weaknesses and I desire Your strength to permeate every area of my life. I love you, Lord. Today, I will be courageous and wait on You!
