“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;” Revelation 12:11

Recently I had the privilege of hearing a young man give his testimony of how the Lord had delivered him from a drug addiction. It was the story of a marvelous deliverance and everyone who heard it was moved. As I listened to him speak, my heart was filled with praise and thanksgiving for the miracle that God had performed. I am so thankful that we serve a God who can reach down to those who are deep in sin and change their lives completely. What a testimony they have.

For those of us who have walked with the Lord since we were children, sometimes hearing a story like this can make us feel that we do not have much to share with others. But the Lord showed me that we have a great testimony even if we never really got entangled in a lot of things in the world. Those who get involved in drugs, alcohol, and other things can find forgiveness and deliverance, but they still must live with the consequences of those sins. Some situations that resulted from those times will affect them for the rest of their lives.

Just think of all the things that the Lord has kept us from. When we give our lives to Him while we are young, we are protected from so many heartaches and sorrows. We can look back on our lives with thanksgiving that the Lord has been with us and kept us from getting involved in things that would have destroyed us. We have a wonderful testimony, one we should share with others, and not be ashamed.

Prayer: Jesus, I thank you for your great salvation, and that you called me to be your child when I was young. I thank you for the way you have been with me through the years, protecting and keeping me from the evils in this world.

  1. I wish my testimony was that I was born again as a child. Oh what a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness and keeping! It would have prevented so much pain and suffering in mine and my children’s lives and I would know God so much better due to a longer relationship with Him. All testimonies of what Jesus has done are awesome and powerful but we need more of children being saved and prevented from a life of sin!

That is so true, how important it is that we reach children before they get involved in a lot of things in this world

      God bless you
