“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest” (Joshua 1:9 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible). When others question you in the middle of your difficult situation saying, “Where will the money come from?”, “What are your plans?”, “Are you sure you really want to do that?”, “Why did it happen?”, “Who is to blame?”, “Can you do it?” – You can say with confidence, “My Jesus knows the answers and I will trust in Him.”

Prayer: Lord Jesus, no matter what You ask me to do, or where You ask me to go, I am confident that You will be with me. I’m thankful I serve a trustworthy leader. Amen!

“For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel, The God of the whole earth shall he be called” (Isaiah 54:5 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible). We will never be truly forsaken, alone or widowed because God is the husband of our soul. Too often we are deeply disappointed with our relationships with others because we expect more from them than they are capable of providing. It’s important to remember that our earthly relationships are but a shadow of what it means to have the affection, protection, companionship, friendship, partnership and leadership of our Maker.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, Everything I need from relationships with those closest to me, I find in You. You are the first and real love of my life!

“We seek out panaceas to resolve the conflicts of the world and to heal our own personal and private wounds. Many are consulting the psychiatrist, the doctor, the minister, and anyone else who will listen. But we do not seem to recognize that the great need in our own personal lives is prayer. Prayer is the greatest neglected resource that we have; it’s a power that we simply are not using today.” ~ J. Vernon McGee

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:” (Revelation 1:1 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible). Human beings are naturally curious about the future. Because of our inability to predict coming events, we tend to look ahead with some fear and trepidation. But the child of God need not fear tomorrow, or dread the last days because God has revealed the mystery of what is to come in the Bible. Future events are not going to happen by chance but are well planned, and in God’s control.

Prayer: Sovereign God, I don’t have to understand everything that is going to take place, but I must love You with all of my heart, and stay ready for Your return. I am comforted by the fact that the One who holds tomorrow also holds my hand. Amen.

I expected last Monday to be like any other work day. It wasn’t. Grief paid a visit to my office. My friend and co-worker, Delores, died. She was at her desk on Friday, smiling and joking. But by the following Monday, her desk was vacant, a reminder that she had passed into eternity.

Prayer: God, You alone know when I will die. Make me ready for heaven. Amen.

Psalm 139:1-4 from the Holy Bible, New Century Version: “Lord, You have examined me and know all about me. You know my thoughts before I think them. You know where I go and where I lie down. You know thoroughly everything I do. Lord, even before I say a word, You know it” Even when nobody else knows, God knows. When you’re hurting, God knows. When you’re lonely, God knows. When you’re afraid, God knows. God knows what you are going to say, before you say it. He knows. He cares. He’s waiting right now for you to talk to Him. Share your heart with Him. Tell Him your dreams. Tell Him your fears. He understands how you feel. He wanted you to know that.

prayer: All Knowing God, I’m glad you know all about me and love me anyway. Teach me to share my deepest feelings with You.

Imagine you are a contestant in a cosmic game show. The host provides the answer. The contestant must provide the appropriate question to that answer. In true JEOPARDY fashion, the show begins…. Contestant: “I’ll take Biblical Answers for $200.” Host: “The answer is… God.” Contestant: The question is… “Who knows how many hairs I have on my head?” Host: Correct! Contestant: “Biblical Answers for $300.” Host: “The answer is God.” Contestant: The question is…. “Who knows when I’m going to die?” Host: Correct! READ: Matthew 10:29-31 from the Holy Bible, New Century Version; “Two sparrows cost only a penny, but not even one of them can die without your Father knowing it. God even knows how many hairs are on your head. So don’t be afraid, you are worth much more than many sparrows.”

Prayer: God, I’m glad I don’t have to worry because whatever my question, YOU are the answer!!

God’s People don’t have to be afraid even during earthquakes, hurricanes or tsunamis. READ: Psalm 46:1 from the Holy Bible, New Century Version: “God is our protection and our strength. He always helps in times of trouble. So we will not be afraid even if the earth shakes, or the mountains fall in the midst of the sea, even if the oceans roar and foam…..” God’s People don’t have to worry if they go to sleep one night safe and sound and wake up to a natural disaster. God’s People have the assurance that He is their “protection and strength…” With all that’s happening in the world today, wouldn’t you like the assurance of God’s protection? All you have to do is become one of God’s People.

Prayer: God, I want to enjoy the protection and comfort that comes from being one of Your people. Lead me. Guide me. Teach me Your ways.
