He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.” 1 Peter 1:20 (NIV)

Before God spoke light into darkness, named every star, and formed humanity, He already had a plan—a plan of redemption (Gen. 1:3; Ps. 147:4; Gen. 1:27). From the very beginning, God was not distant; He was intentional. His love was not reactive—it was predetermined.

God demonstrates His closeness to us through His infinite love by stepping into humanity Himself. Jesus is not just a moment in history—He is the long-awaited promise fulfilled, the Messiah revealed.

One of my favorite glimpses of this truth is found in Luke 2:22–40. In this passage, we see Joseph and Mary faithfully upholding the Law of Moses through Jesus’ circumcision and their offering (Luke 2:21, 24). But tucked within this moment is a quiet detail that speaks volumes—the offering of turtledoves reveals their economic reality. They could not afford a lamb.

And yet, this is where it gets powerful.

Because Jesus is our perfect Savior, it’s easy to forget that He did not come through what we would consider a “perfect” life. He wasn’t born into wealth, status, or privilege. He didn’t arrive as the conquering King many expected. Instead, He came in the most vulnerable form, as a baby, into a family with very little.

The King of kings chose humility.

He can relate to rulers and religious leaders, yet He also fully identifies with the poor, the overlooked, and the marginalized. And even now, He meets you exactly where you are.

That’s the beauty of our God—when we draw near to Him, He draws even closer to us.

“Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” Philippians 2:6–7

No matter your background, your financial situation, or your past—Jesus reaches you. Not just you, but your family, and the entire world.

There is truly no one like our God.

He is, and will always be, the King of kings.
