“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
At my age, every day is a blessing from the Lord. I thank Him for the health and strength that He has given me. I thank Him for the confidence that I have that He is with me every day and my future is in His hands. I thank Him for the avenue He has given me to share my thoughts on this site. I thank Him for each one of you faithful readers who support us. May the Lord richly bless each one of you as we begin this new year.
I would like to share the following poem with you. I had written it a few years ago but have revised it a bit. I trust it will be a blessing to each one of you.
As a new year dawns before us, uncharted and unknown.
We know not what each day will bring, but we do not walk alone.
Trusting in our precious Saviour, His promise is secure.
Knowing He’ll guide each step we take and lead us through each door.
Each situation that we face is filtered by His love.
We need never fear nor question, He watches from above.
Though our thoughts sometimes deceive us, He always knows what’s best.
And as we yield ourselves to Him, He’ll take us through each test.
So as another year begins, this is the way to start.
Simply trusting in the Saviour, we give Him all our heart.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord Jesus for all your blessings. We pray that you will guide our footsteps in the coming year and help us to be ready for your coming.

Beautiful! Such a great blessing to know we can truly trsut him!
He has brought us safely through another years, and we can can trust the future to Him.
Beautiful poetry. Thank you. Maybe I need to set my mind to such. I’m good at poetry, and was just thinking earlier this morning way before I read the devotional, of a poetic “happy new year” wish originated by me, and through God that I could post. We’ll see. Take care. I would love to write for this website, but I don’t have alot of time, and I don’t know if I would be able to commit. Let me know your thoughts, I guess. Surely doesn’t hurt to mention, I guess. But I d get my feelings hurt easily, lol, so pls be mindful. L’ya, Sister Anne. Thanks for listening. ❤️🤷Happy “new” year, in Jesus name, a great one! 🙌
I never dreamed that I would ever be writing for such a great site as this. My daughter was involved but she was so busy that she asked the Administrator if she could pass it on to me. I thought it would just be for a short time, but I have been doing it for several years and enjoy it. I would suggest that you start by writing your thoughts down, asking the Lord for guidance and direction. Who knows, God may open up an opportunitye for you to share with others? As for the poetry, I have been dabbling at that for many years, and just write when the Lord inspires me. If you are on Social Media, you could post your poems on there.
Thank you, sister Johnston, for the wonderful insights the Lord has given you for us! Today’s devotion truly blessed and touched my heart in ways that are difficult to comprehend. As I write this with tears flowing down my face, I am reminded that the Lord understands my heart better than I do, and I trust in Him. Thank you for sharing your poem; the words have brought me such comfort.
I am so happy that this was a blessing to you, Kathryn. I pray the Lord will bless you abundantly in the coming year.
You have a talent there, Sister.
Thankyou so much. I just try to write what the Lord puts in my heart.
