“But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.” Daniel 6:10 NLT The king during this season of Daniel’s life was King Darius. To be sure that his government was being run properly, King Darius put three other officials in charge of the governors. Daniel becomes one of these men, along with two others, and because he was a hard worker, he is eventually…
“The Lord is my light and my salvation — so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?” Psalms 27:1 It seems as though the world is getting darker and darker each day. Horrors that hid in the shadows for…
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.” Proverbs 16:3-4 ESV According to Dictionary.com, one definition of “commit” is “to give in trust or charge, especially for safekeeping.” So this…

“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” (Jeremiah 3:15, ESV) One of my earliest childhood memories is of the little white country church that sat on a hill not far from our home. It’s been many years, and I was only a toddler, but in that memory, I see a tall (to me at least) man who stood behind a modest pulpit and preached the Word. My first pastor. I was blessed to have godly parents who faithfully attended church and instilled in me a love for God. I…
I now have a smartwatch. And may I add that sometimes it seems to be much smarter than I am! But I’m pleased to say I’m learning how to operate it somewhat efficiently. I rest (at a heart rate of 70bpm according to the smartwatch) in the hope that I will gain knowledge quickly while losing other unwanted things at the same pace. I have found out that when we awaken in the morning, we should be sure to sync the watch to the app on our phones. This will enable us to get the correct vitals and stats recorded…
“Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:7-9 I recently heard a news story about some men who decided to steal from a Jewelry store and rather than trying to get in through the doors, they found another way. They entered an unlocked door of another…
1 Samuel 18:28-29 NLT “When Saul realized that the Lord was with David and how much his daughter Michal loved him, Saul became even more afraid of him, and he remained David’s enemy for the rest of his life.” As I read through the life of David, I can’t help but grow increasingly interested in Saul. Saul was the first chosen earthly king for the Israelite people, hand-picked by God, yet something went seriously wrong during his reign. Saul always appeared to have the best intentions, but many of his decisions went awry, which eventually led to David being appointed the new king…
