I was abused as a child. I know now it was not my fault, but I carried the guilt and shame into my twenties. It made trusting and having relationships difficult. After what happened, I set walls up and didn’t let anyone in. No matter how hard I tried to…
If you have suffered from the actions of someone in your past or in your present circumstance, then you may ask ‘How could they?’ ‘How could they have betrayed me? How could they have abused me? How could they have ______?’ (you fill in the blank). There are no easy answers and no easy solutions to such emotional wounding. And yet, we read in John 10:10 from the Holy Bible, King James Version,
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I (JESUS) am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
He died on the cross because…He knew they would betray and abuse you.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for the blood you shed on the cross so that my emotional wounds can be healed. Where there is hatred, put love. Where there is confusion, put peace. Where there is bitterness, put forgiveness. Amen.
