“For a child is born to us,     a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders.     And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,     Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 When I read this verse and break it down, it tells so many wonderful attributes of God. First, He is wonderful. The definition of wonderful is “inspiring delight, pleasure or admiration. Extremely good; marvellous” Doesn’t that sound just like God? Next, He is our counsellor. We can bring our needs, hurts, dreams, and worry’s to Him – free of judgement and only given love…

“From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.” Isaiah 43:13 I love this verse. Sometimes we just need a quick reminder of how powerful our God is. From beginning to end, He is God. From everlasting to everlasting, He is God. In the valley, He is God. On the mountain, He is God. In tragedy and disaster, He is God. In seasons of rejoicing and victory, He is God. No one, regardless of how powerful they may appear to be, can snatch anyone out…

“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” Jeremiah 31:3 How great is God’s love?  We read the stories of the children of Israel, how God delivered them so many times and when they turned away from them, He was still merciful toward them and forgave them when they cried out to Him, and we wonder why He did not give up on them.   They were His chosen people and His love towards them never failed, even though they did not love Him…
