Wishing on A Star

    “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” (Psalm 37:4 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible). Ashley was driving home with her two small children and noticed the sky was full of stars. She commented to her two-year-old daughter, Briley that she could wish upon a star whatever she wanted. They had gone to church earlier and met the young people and her parents at a pizza place afterwards. The little girl knew immediately what she wished and verbalized it by saying, “I wish my Daddy was here to eat pizza with me.” Her Daddy is a soldier in Afghanistan and the child was missing him. I believe that God heard the desires of Briley’s heart and will bring her Daddy home safe to his praying family. Ashley is trying to make the best of a bad situation by taking her kids to church while here husband is away. When we put the Lord first He takes care of our desires. Maybe you have a loved one in the war; God sees the desires of your heart. Delight in the Lord and He will bring it to pass.
    Prayer: Dear Lord, I put You first and I believe that You will give me the desires of my heart. Grant protection for our troops and bring them home safely to their families. We will give You all the praise and glory! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

“Humpty Dumpty set on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty together again!” Have you ever felt a little like Humpty Dumpty? I have. I’ve fallen. Failed. Broken, not just things, but people – said words that shouldn’t have been spoken – done things that I never should have done. I’m left wondering if I can ever piece the fragments of my life back together again. I can’t. But He can! God mends broken hearts. He takes the pieces of failure, inadequacies, and rejection, and He patiently restores, heals, strengthens, refreshes, and renews.

Prayer: Dear Lord, when we are cast down, nothing is going right, and we don’t know which way to turn, You are our hope (Psalm 42:11). Thank You for the promise that we have in You.
