Pray Without Ceasing

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 from the ESV of the Holy Bible)

God answers prayers.  For the passed nine years, I have been praying that God would use me to reach a particular group of people in my life. Nine years. Giving up would have been easy. A few days ago, I had the opportunity to bring some of these people to my church. Not only did they love it, but they returned only a few days later for Youth Group, and have vowed to come again on Sunday.  As I drove the girls home, one of them asked, “How do you pray”? My eyes instantly filled with tears. To say that I was overwhelmed with excitement about the fact that this girl was interested in having a relationship with God would be and understatement.

I know it’s a cliché thing to say, but God WILL answer our prayers in His season. It is scriptural to win the lost.  If we are doing everything in our power to reach the souls of people around us, I without a doubt believe that God will honour that.  He doesn’t always answer right away, but if we can just wait – He will do something grand!

Prayer: Lord, I am so thankful for You answering our prayers.  You may not always do things when we want, but You always do them on time.  Where would we be without You walking beside us each and every day. Shine through us today, Lord. In Jesus name, amen.
