“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:7 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible)
We had the privilege to spend a few days in Canada this summer. Prince Edward Island was our final destination. What a beautiful place to visit. The weather was perfect. Coming from the hot South with over 100 degree weather to 70-80 degrees was wonderful!
While there, we enjoyed the Anne of Green Gables drama which featured a live orchestra. We watched the director and heard the most beautiful music. My husband was fascinated with the music. It’s hard to believe that many instruments can play each part to perfection.
We talked about it coming home. I told him that the key to their performance was their director and of course each one knowing how to read the music on their stands. Following the lead of the director was of utmost importance. The violin couldn’t play when they felt like it and follow his way or the production would be terrible.
The same is true for us. We often forget that our Director is waving the baton for us to follow. We must trust Him for an awesome performance in our lives.
Prayer: My faith and trust is in You, Lord. Help me to leave the directing up to you and just follow Your directions and take You at Your Word.
