“He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.”

Psalms 40:3

There are many reasons why God chooses to answer or to wait when we bring a need to Him. I have learned a few over the years, and when I say a few I mean a few. Gods ways are higher than ours and we will never be truly able to understand why He does what He does, when He does.

He is protecting us. Oftentimes we want our answers now, but God sees the full picture… and we don’t. He knows the outcome before we even face the problem. He also knows what tomorrow holds, and if He is keeping you from something – be thankful instead of frustrated.

It isn’t perfect yet. When me and my husband struggled with multiple miscarriages the one thing I told myself over and over again was “it just isn’t perfect yet” We too quickly settle for what’s good instead of what’s best. If you are in a season of waiting, be patient knowing that it just isn’t perfect yet – and He is working it out.

He wants the glory. He is a great and a Mighty God, and He wants credit where credit is due! There are going to be some situations where you will have exhausted every human resource possible – and that’s when He does His best work.

And lastly, so others may see what He has done. There is power in your testimony, and no one on earth can dispute what God has done for you. Financial miracle, changed medical diagnosis, loved one saved, babies when you were told you couldn’t conceive.. the list is endless. He alone can do it all, and that speaks to people.

Because of what your going through right now, people will come to know Jesus and trust Him. There is a purpose for your pain and struggle. Someday it will speak to someone, and draw them closer to God.

Jesus, I am thankful that You can use even the darkest of situations to bring light into someone’s life. Guide me to those today who need You and who are searching for truth.
