If anyone boasts, “I love God,” and goes right on hating his brother or sister, thinking nothing of it, he is a liar. If he won’t love the person he can see, how can he love the God he can’t see? (1 John 4:20, The Message)

What a reminder! How we love our neighbor is a representation of the love we have for God. It is easy to forget this simple commandment, especially when people are frustrating us to no end. Showing your love to others does not look the same for every person. You don’t have to constantly be hugging people or giving gifts to show you care. What is more important is keeping your thoughts about people positive. Choosing not to speak poorly of people is a great place to start! Be aware of how you are speaking about people. If you catch yourself being negative, change it! You alone have the ability to do this and it will change how you feel about yourself.

Prayer: Lord, help us to be kind and loving towards one another. I pray that you will show us when we are not treating people the way we should. Thank you for loving us even when we make bad choices. Help us to love you back by showing love to the people around us.
