“Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.” Psalm 40:5
I still serve an amazing God.
He′s been with me every mile my weary feet have trod.
He still cares, He still hears.
He’s still mending broken hearts and drying tears.
This old world is bound to change.
But I′m glad I know the One Who always stays the same.
And my song will ever be.
Amazing God, You’re still amazing me.
Although the word ‘amazing’ is not found in the King James Version of the Bible, we can find words that mean the same thing, such as wonderful, awesome, and great. As we read the stories of Jesus, we see many times that people were amazed at His miracles and teachings.
The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia describes amazed as follows: “A term which illustrates the difficulty of expressing in one English word the wide range of startled emotion, wonder, astonishment, awe, covered, in the Old Testament, by four Hebrew words and in the New Testament by as many Greek words
When we think of the millions of people who live in this world, it is amazing to realize that the Lord looks at each one of us as individuals. He knows even how many hairs we have on our heads. He hears every prayer that we pray. He sees each tear we shed. Truly, we serve an amazing God.
This week, we will look at some of the amazing things the Lord has promised to those who love and serve Him.
