“The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.  With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace.” Psalm 45:13-15

Last week was the inauguration of the new President of the United States.  A lot of the news reports centred around what the new First Lady and the Vice President were wearing.  I am sure that they spent a lot of time considering what they were going to wear because they knew they would be in the spotlight.  We see this same thing happening in Royalty and in the Entertainment world.  Much of the focus is on what they ladies involved are wearing and they are judged by what they have chosen.

The world looks so much on the outward appearance, but the Bible tells us God looks at our hearts.  This scripture is describing the daughter of the king, and centres on her inner beauty which is reflected in her clothing. I heard a message awhile ago, which stated that the way we live here on earth is creating the robe of righteousness that we will wear in heaven.

You and I may never stand on a podium for a great occasion here on earth.  Most of us cannot claim to be part of royalty nor do we or our husbands hold a great position in government.  We probably will never attain to any great rewards here on earth. We probably will never be able to afford the lavish gowns that make the news.

BUT, as followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are the daughters of the King, and one day this scripture says we will be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework, with gladness and rejoicing, and enter the king’s palace, to live forever.  We will not have to search the malls to find the perfect outfit.  The life we live for the Lord from day to day, is weaving the garments of righteousness that He desires us to wear.

The blood of Jesus Christ has cleansed us, washed us white as snow, and by seeking Him each day we keep our hearts pure.  The condition of our heart will be reflected in the way we live our lives, and how we treat those around us.

Prayer:  Lord Jesus, search our hearts today, cleanse us from anything that would tarnish the robe you are preparing for us.  Let our outward appearance reflect what is within and be a blessing and inspiration to others.
