I look up to the mountains- does my help come from there

My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth

He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber

Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps

The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.

The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night.

The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.

The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

Psalms 121 NLT

My oldest daughter is always wanting to show me every single thing she does during the day. Whether it’s how well she brushed her teeth, how neatly she made her bed or the picture she has drawn for the one hundredth time, I need to be watching her. Quite honestly, it sometimes does get a bit exhausting,  but I think she just likes to know I’m interested, and she wants me to be involved in every part of her life.

I can get distracted though. I’m either chasing a toddler, making supper or trying to tidy up and I just can’t watch every little thing she does. I often feel bad about it, but it’s just a part of being human,  I can’t watch and see everything. I’m sure she feels let down sometimes, as I do when someone doesn’t appear to be interested in my life.

God is always watching us though, and it’s incredible to know that! I think it goes beyond just watching over us to protect us (which is very evident in this scripture), I think He is watching because he’s interested in us and our lives. You have fellowship with, and communicate with people you are interested and invested in – the same applies to God.

He is invested in you.

He loves you.

He wants to see you succeed and prosper.

He wants to talk with you about your day and how you’re feeling.

You can find peace today in the fact that the God you serve absolutely and unequivocally loves you, and wants to be a part of your life.

God, I am thankful I get to serve you – the One True King who loves me, and is invested in my life. Remind me today of Your nearness, and show me how I can allow You into every part of my life.
