Peace. Reels and posts galore telling you to “protect your peace”.

But here’s the thing. Selfish ambition always leads to disorder. Not peace (James 3:16).

When my world is consumed by me as I pursue the futile endeavor of protecting my peace, I am perpetuating the disorder in my life.

See, Jesus promises to be the keeper of our peace. It’s simple. We keep our minds on Jesus, and He will keep our peace (Isaiah 26:3). Keeping your own peace is not your job. Trying to control everything around us so we can have “peace” never ends in true peace. That glass cage will shatter. Always.

But we are not passive recipients in this peace thing.

He does have a job for us.

He gives us peace that the world can’t give (John 14:27) so that we can be the world’s peacemakers (Matthew 5:9).

With the power of God within me, I walk into earthly situations carrying peace, not seeking peace. You don’t have access to disrupt the peace within me because you didn’t give it to me.

But you DO have access to the peace that I have in Jesus. And with all that is within me, I want you to have it.

May the God of peace keep me that I may make peace in this world.

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all” (II Thessalonians 3:16, ESV).
