“And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son” (Genesis 22:13 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.)
The crowning event in the history of Abraham takes place in this passage. He had done exactly as God asked him to.
Obedience is unavoidable to please God. Because of Abraham’s obedience, behind him was the sacrifice that would allow him to release his son from the altar. God had his back. He now knew what Abraham was made of.
So many times, my back has been against a proverbial wall and God came through. You can trust Him in any crisis situation.
Prayer: Dear Lord, You have been so faithful to me! Even when I didn’t understand what was happening, You came through.
