“Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters—a pathway no one knew was there!”
Psalms 77:19
We are facing extremely uncertain times right now all across the globe. Most people are feeling fear and anxiety as we face an unknown future. Lockdown, social distancing and quarantine have become a part of our everyday vocabulary. A stark reminder of how quickly things can change.
When the Israelites were finally freed from their slavery, they set out on a perilous journey to reach the land that God had promised them. Their futures too were uncertain, and their destination was unknown.
When they finally reached the Red Sea, all hope seemed to be lost. They literally had no where to go. It appeared to be the end of the line. Pharaoh and his army were closing in, and it probably felt like it was all for nothing. This would be the place they would die.
But God.
To the human eye, there was no path of escape, but His ways are higher than ours, and His thoughts are above ours. He seen a path where they didn’t.
He can always make a way where there seems to be no way. I’ve been reminding myself of this truth so often these last few weeks. I’m limited in my humanity, but God is not. He is still all powerful, He is still victorious and He is still in absolute control.
Heaven is not in chaos right now. The angels aren’t short of supplies or running out of resources. We are limited, lacking and faltering but heaven is not!
Remind yourself of this truth today, that even when there appears to be no path of escape, God can make one!
Lord, increase my faith during this troubling time. Help me to see you at work, even in the small everyday tasks. Remind me of Your power!
