“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” Matthew 21:22
Jesus told His disciples that He would answer every prayer that they prayed in faith. That same promise is for us today. But, I believe, that we must ask the Lord to direct our prayers in the right way. The Lord knows better than we do what is best for us. I read something in a friend’s blog a week or so ago that meant a lot to me: “God sometimes answers our prayers by giving us what we would have asked for had we known what He knows.”
One thing we can be sure of: God always answers our prayers. It may not be the answer we are looking for, but it will be what is best for us. Another quote: “God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him.” Like the Lord prayed in the garden, we need to pray that His will be done, not ours. He knows our past, present, and future, and we can safely trust that His way is best.
Prayer: Lord, I do not always understand the way you answer my prayers, but I trust that everything you do is for my good.
