“And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us:” Psalm 90:17
“Ask the earth and the sea, the plains and the mountains, the sky and the clouds, the stars and the sun, the fish and the animals, and all of them will say, ‘We are beautiful because God made us….’ Their beauty is their testimony to God.” — St. Augustine
How true this quote is, God made so many beautiful things in this world for us to enjoy, and as we look upon them, we can’t help but thank Him for them. As Spring finally comes to our area, we look forward to all the flowers. Even the dandelions, although they may seem like a nuisance to some, will add a bright splash of colour to our world. Soon the buds will burst open and the new leaves will appear on the trees, and all of nature will show forth the beauty which God gave it.
When we realize that after God had created all the rest of the world, He created man in His image, and breathed in him the breath of life, it causes us to rejoice. We are His crowning creation, and as we let His Spirit move in our hearts, He gives us a beauty that far surpasses everything in nature. When the joy of the Lord fills our soul, the glow of His Spirit reflects on our face and is our testimony to the world.
Prayer: Jesus we thank you that we can say, “I am a child of God.” Help us to live each day in thanksgiving, so that the world will see your beauty reflected in us.
