“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.” Psalm 37:23-24.

No matter how long we have served the Lord, there are still times when we will find ourselves making mistakes and failing to do what the Lord wants us to do.  We need to remember that nothing we do changes God’s love for us.  He knows everything about our lives, and He has had a plan from the very beginning.  He knows the mistakes that we will make, and He already has our rescue planned.

The Psalmist said that even when we fall, we are not cast down, because we are held up in His everlasting arms.  We have put our faith and trust in the Lord, and we know that when we call on Him, He is there to hear us and to give us the victory in every situation.

The secret is found in the first part of this verse, “he delighteth in his way.”  Our only desire is to please God and walk in the path that He has shown us.  We are human, and we know that there will be things that come against us to try and destroy our faith in the Lord.  Just knowing the Lord does not make us immune to the things that happen to all mankind.  We will face sickness, financial difficulties, and many things. At times we may feel that the Lord is a long way from us.  But when we cry out to Him, our faith is restored.  We know that even when we are tempted to doubt, He has provided a way of escape for us.

Prayer:  Jesus I am so thankful for your everlasting arms that are there for me, waiting to catch me when I fall, and always hearing me when I call upon your Name.
