“Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.” Luke 24:1-3

I serve a risen Saviour, He’s in the world today

I know that He is living, whatever men may say

I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer

And just the time I need Him He’s always near

He lives (He lives), He lives (He lives), Christ Jesus lives today

He walks with me and talks with me

Along life’s narrow way

He lives (He lives), He lives (He lives), Salvation to impart

You ask me how I know He lives?

He lives within my heart.

Life began in a garden when God breathed life into Adam. Adam and Eve yielded to temptation and brought sin into the world. They had to leave the beautiful Garden of Eden where God had walked and talked with them.

New life also began in a garden on that first Easter morning when Jesus walked out of the tomb. He had broken the chains of death and hell and made a way for us to have eternal life.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

As two of the disciples stood before the empty tomb, sad and discouraged, the angel spoke to them: “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen.” Luke 24:5-6

He is alive today. How do I know? He lives within my heart. Because He lives, I can face each day, knowing that He will never leave me nor forsake me. He has given me eternal life, and a hope of Heaven where I will ever be with Him.

Prayer: My wonderful Lord, thank you for your great plan of salvation. Because you gave your life on the cross, and then rose again, I have life and hope in you.
