“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground.”

Exodus 14:15-16

We serve an Extraordinary God. He is limitless in power, all knowing and Creator. He does all things well, and does things that are a little outside of the box, spitting in dirt for instance to heal a man who was  blind.

If our God is creative and thinks big thoughts, we should do the same! The Israelites felt as though they were trapped at the Red Sea, and that they would be captured. It would have been so easy to be consumed with fear and dread at the thought that those could have been their last moments.

But God simply asks “why are you crying out to me?” He then tells them to get moving! Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a body of water and being told to move forward. It would appear to be impossible wouldn’t it? In our own human ability, yes. With God? Definitely not!

He seems to ask as though they should have already thought of this! Why couldn’t  they cross the Red Sea? God had just performed countless miracles, mainly protecting the people from terrible plagues and death. The water in front of them was just a puddle to God.

When faced with a trial that appears so much larger than you, venture outside the box. Think miraculous thoughts. Imagine complete deliverance. Move forward in faith, believing that God is going to do the impossible!

Pick up the word of God today over your situation and cross it!

God, I’m thankful that You always make a way for your people. You are Great and all Powerful. Help me to have faith today that I can think big thoughts, and overcome my trials
