“For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?”  Romans 8:24

Jesus brought great hope to the earth, hope of deliverance from sin and hope of eternal life with Him.

The last few weeks we have read of the passing of some great men and women who loved the Lord and laboured for Him.  We are saddened to see them leave this earth, but we know that they have finally achieved what they have been aiming towards for their whole life.  We rejoice that they have gone on to their reward.

Paul said, “If in this life we have hope, we are of all men most miserable.”

Jesus has forgiven our sins, filled us with His Spirit, and given us a hope that one day we will spend eternity in His presence.  Because of this hope, we spend time communicating with Him every day, growing closer to Him, and looking forward to what is ahead.  Hope puts a song in our heart and a smile on our face.

We can only imagine what is awaiting us when we finally leave this world and go to be with the One we have loved and served here on earth.  No matter what Heaven brings, the greatest joy will be seeing the One who is preparing it for us.  We will also rejoice as we once again meet with our friends and loved ones who have gone on before us.

As the world looks at us, they should be able to see that we have something within us that makes us want to smile.  How great it is to be able to share that hope with others

Prayer:  Jesus we know that the time of your return is growing closer, and if you take us by way of the Rapture or the grave, we have the hope that you have prepared a wonderful place for us, where we will see you face to face.
