One of my favorite words is restore, and a few of my favorite scriptures are Galatians 6:1-2. “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness: considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Verse 1 encourages us to restore people who have fallen down spiritually. It also reminds us that we could also fall into the same sin. Verse 2 commands to bear…

Confidence has a negative connotation and almost seems like a taboo word to say out loud (or even write). Why is this? Is it because confidence is associated with pride? When we put our confidence in our flesh, it is most definitely pride. However, when we put our confidence in God, it…

OUT OF CONTROL: So, you are driving along life’s highway and decide to let God take control of your life. You move to the passenger seat and give God the wheel. This is a big step! Finally. You are ready to relinquish control. Or so you think. You sit in the passenger seat, but you are like a nervous mother giving her sixteen-year-old son driving lessons. “God, stop! Don’t you see the car coming our way?” The car is about a mile away, but you are sure God will take you into a head-on collision. A few seconds later, God…

“Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.” Colossians 3:14 I’m not a very fashionable person. I love clothes as much as the next woman, but I struggle with pairing patterns, prints, and colors together. I try and keep it simple with dresses that don’t need to be matched with anything, and subtle, neutral colors. There is an article of clothing that we all should be brilliant at putting on, and that is love. This scripture tells us to “Clothe ourselves with love.” The message translation tells us to “Wear love,” for it is…

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  John 15:13 Amazing love, how can it be That you, my king, would die for me? Amazing love. I know it’s true. And it’s my joy to honour you In all I do, I honor you. The word love has lost its true meaning in our world today. How often do we hear the word applied to food, possessions, or other material things? In the celebrity world, people are in love with someone today and someone else the next. But the love that…

“I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:9 When our children are small, we often place gates at the bottom of the stairs or in the entrances to some rooms. These are not meant to limit our children, but to protect them from unsafe places. We love them. They are too young to understand the dangers, so we establish some boundaries to keep them safe. Jesus said that He was the door or the gate to salvation, which is open to all.…
