“We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do.  We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God.  We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5, NLT)

Pray: I need Your power and might to walk in victory today.  Grant me a portion of YOUR power and might. Lead me in the way of victory today. Help me to stand firmly against the tactics of the devil.

BELT OF TRUTH

“I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6, NLT)

Pray: Fill me with truth today, wrap me in it, hold me together in Your truth, and keep me from error.

BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

“And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. 23 And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded 24 for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.” (Romans 4:22-25, NLT)

Pray: Let Your righteousness shine through me today.  I refuse the unrighteousness of evil and temptation.  Filter everything that comes into my spiritual heart or goes out of it. Guard my heart with Your righteousness today.

SHOES OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE

Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You: because He trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26:3, NKJV)

Pray: Plant my feet firmly in You and help me maintain my footing; help me not slip or stumble today.  Everywhere I walk, let the peace of God be established.  I want to leave footprints of peace where I step today.

HELMET OF SALVATION

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing.  Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.  Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (Philippians 4:8, NLT)

Pray: Keep my mind and eyes protected.  I cast down every vain imagination right now.  I surrender my thoughts to You.  Protect my thoughts and don’t let my mind entertain evil.  Place in me the mind of Christ.  Let me see the world through Your eyes.

SHIELD OF FAITH

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1, KJV)

The shield of faith is the only piece of armor we wield. We move it about to quench the darts from the enemy.

Pray: I trust You to protect me from all the fiery arrows of Satan. Help me when I do not understand.  I hide behind You for You are invincible.  Lord, You are the author and finisher of my faith. Let my faith come from You, for You are faithful.  I hold up my shield of faith in You today whenever a fiery dart comes my way.

SWORD OF THE SPIRIT (The Word of God)

“For the Word of God is alive and powerful.  It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow.  It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.  Nothing in all of creation is hidden from God.  Everything is naked and exposed before His eyes, and He is the one to whom we are accountable.” (Hebrews 4:12-13, NLT)

Pray: Anoint Your Word in my hands and heart.  Show me any thought or desire that is not pleasing to You so that I can repent.  Let Your Word break forth and cast blows to evil.  Let Your Word flow from my mouth today.  Let me be on the offense with the Truth as I wage war on the enemy.  Let Your Word do its work through me.  Let me be a channel through which Your Word can flow.

SUPPLICATION/PRAYER

Ephesians 6:18 (NLT) “Pray in the Spirit at all times, and on every occasion.   Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”

Pray: Lord, I lift my brothers and sisters in prayer (specify names and needs), and I am ready to intercede for any brother or sister who needs prayer.  Guide me in how to pray for them.

End with GIVING OF THANKS

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus.” (Hebrews 4:12-13, NLT)

Pray: I praise You because You have translated me out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Your light!  I praise You for inviting me to become part of Your Kingdom!  I give You thanks for Your many blessings and for allowing me to come before Your throne in prayer!
