“She is clothed with strength and dignity, she can laugh at the days to come” (Proverbs 31:25, NIV).  In yesterday’s devotion, we asked, “What Are You Wearing?”  We learned to get dressed every day in the armor of God so we are prepared to stand firm against whatever Satan may try to throw in our path. But what else do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see someone looking back at you that you don’t quite recognize? A wrinkle here, a laugh line there. I saw a meme depicting an older woman looking at the reflection…

Psalms 19:1-3 MSG “God’s glory is on tour in the skies, God-craft on exhibit across the horizon. Madame Day holds classes every morning, Professor Night lectures each evening. Their words aren’t heard, their voices aren’t recorded But their silence fills the earth: unspoken truth is spoken everywhere” What an incredible image these scriptures spark in my mind. Morning and night, holding classes and lectures without uttering a sound, or even speaking a single word. Their silence fills the earth, and unspoken truth is everywhere. What exactly does that mean, unspoken truth? To me, it shows the majesty and unchanging nature…

Ephesians 3:14-16 MSG “My response is to get down on my knees before the Father,  this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit – not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength” As a woman and a mother, I’m naturally gifted in the art of worrying. It’s a skill I’ve been honing and crafting for years. Day after day, I would spend countless precious minutes fretting and scurrying about, wondering when the next shoe would drop, and life would hurl another curveball my way. Now, I of course know…

Condemnation versus conviction. Many of us may have experienced both at some point in our walk with God. One of Satan’s biggest weapons against the children of God is condemnation. To condemn means “to pronounce to be guilty, to sentence to punishment, or to pass judgment against.” Condemnation is especially effective against those of us raised on church pews and instructed from our youth in biblical principles. In Revelation, Satan is called “the accuser of the brethren.” Revelation 12:10 says, “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our…

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Prov. 3:5-6. “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”  Matthew 6:34. A new day dawns, uncharted and unknown. We know not what this day will bring, but we do not walk alone. When we put our trust in God, His promise is secure. That He will guide each step we take and lead us…
