“And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest.”
Luke 8:15 NLT
Anyone else out there struggle with being patient? I am the person who has to take every last gift out of the box Christmas morning for no particular reason. I just have to do it, and it drives my husband crazy! I tear through the beautiful wrapping paper and stare for a moment in wonder…but then onto taking it out of the box!
This is just one silly example of a time when my impatience gets the best of me. I actually struggle the most with spiritual patience. My husband always tells me “if God isn’t speaking, don’t move” Which is such a great point, but it is much easier said than done.
I want my seeds to fall on good soil though. I want to be known as an honest, good-hearted person who HEARS God’s word (notice the emphasis on “hears”) I want to hold fast to His word and patiently produce a harvest. It takes time. It takes a daily walk with God, open communication and faith. It requires us daily surrendering to His plan for our lives even if it is painful at times and demands great sacrifice.
Don’t forget and leave behind the small things, like prayer and reading His word, for they will carry you into the Supernatural and you will reap a HUGE harvest!
I ask for patience today Lord. Help me to be still in Your presence, and help me to recognize Your voice when You are speaking to me.
