Praise the LORD! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever, (Psalm 106:1, Holy Bible, New King James).

You’ve seen the adverse effects of permanent things—black marks on the wall made by a happy toddler, a scar from an accidental knife cut while cooking, a small dent in a vehicle too costly to repair. These scars are visible reminders of mistakes. But, permanent has a bright side. The Psalmist coupled “mercy” with “forever” and created a happy ending for all who trust in God.

Prayer: Lord, I give thanks to You because your mercy is everlasting. Amen.
