“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:” (1 Peter 1:7). Who wants to go through trials? It hurts when the fire burns away the dull outer layers of my life. But, oh, how beautiful it is when the gold shines through to reflect God’s glory!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I submit to Your sovereign will for my life. Though the pain of this situation takes my breath away, I understand, Lord, that You are beside me during this test of my faith. Thank You, Lord, for being my refiner! May Your image be reflected in me. Amen.
