“O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.” Psalm 108:1 There are times when we have placed our confidence in other people, and have been disappointed. We shared something personal with them and they failed to keep our secret and spread it around to others. It is hard to trust them again. Thankfully, we can go to the Lord Jesus and share our innermost thoughts and dreams. He never betrays a confidence and we can safely trust in Him. No matter what we are going through, He listens to our prayers and…
O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.” Psalm 108:1
Singing is very much a part of worshipping the Lord. I hate it when I have a cold or sore throat and cannot sing in church without coughing, it just seems like the service is not the same. Sure, we can worship the Lord from our hearts, even though we cannot use our voice, but there is a special feeling when we join our voices with the rest of the children of God.
But, like the Psalmist, we can sing from our heart, even though no sound comes from our mouths, because our heart is fixed on the Lord. He knows our every thought and hears praise coming from our hearts, even though others around us cannot.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for the song you have put in our hearts, a song of praise for all that you are and all that you have done for us.
