“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible). New babies often bring questions like, “Who do they look like?” and “Where did that red hair come from? I’m here to remind you that the world can tell if we resemble our Heavenly Father or not. The crucible of suffering has a way of showing our real identity. Your reaction to what comes your way revels who you really are and whether or not you look like Jesus. Do you resemble Him at all?

Prayer: Lord, I want the world to recognize who my Father is. I want more of You in my life so that I reflect Your image.

How often have you said, “I just wish someone understood me?” This verse reminds us once again that God really does understand what we are going through. Jesus is no stranger to pain and suffering. “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not” (Isaiah 53:3 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible). Prayer: Lord Jesus, when I think of the rejection and agony You experienced on the cross, all of my difficulties fade…
