“Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor?” (Romans 9:21, in the King James Version of the Holy Bible)

This morning this scripture put me in my place when I read it and realized that He’s the potter and I’m just clay.

A potter’s occupation is to make earthen vessels. Clay has no real value until it’s placed into the potter hands. With his hands, he begins to form it into something of his choosing.

He can do whatever He desires with me because He’s in charge. I can’t possibly pull myself up by the proverbial “boot straps.” I want to stay in the Master Potter’s hands and let Him mold me according to His plan. I’m in good hands when I’m in His hands.

Prayer: Lord, mold me and make me after Your will. Help me to be pliable and flexible to what You have in mind for me. I desire to be a vessel of honor. In Jesus Name, amen!

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” (Ephesians 3:20 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible).

Reading this scripture made me realize that if my wildest dreams come true that both God and I will be involved in it. I must let Him work through me. He’s God and He can do anything He chooses to do. He wants to do greater things in my life if I allow Him to do so. This year I plan to team up with God and let Him work through me so that great things can happen in my life. It’s me and God!

Prayer: Here I am Lord, I give all myself to You. Mold and make me as You see fit in this new year. I want to be a vessel of honor. All praise belongs to You!
