But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.”

Mark 5:19

Mark chapter five tells us the story of a man who is possessed by evil spirits. He was living a life of torment and constant terror as these spirits made him howl, and cut himself with sharp stones. No man could subdue him for he appeared to have super human strength, breaking chains and smashing shackles.

Jesus has a conversation with these spirits and they beg Him to allow them to enter into a herd of pigs. In the end, the man is totally set free and healed.

The man begged Jesus to allow him to go with Him on His journey. I think anyone would have the same reaction. If Jesus completely changed your life, naturally you would want to follow Him. Jesus tells him no, and rather tells him to return to his family and tell them everything that the Lord has done for him.

Jesus knew the power of a testimony. He knew that by this man going back to his hometown he was being His hands and feet. Jesus physically went in one direction, while this man carried the gospel to another location.

You have a story to tell, and no one else can tell your story for you. Every healing, every deliverance and time He provided needs to be shared as it has the potential to change the course of someone’s life.

You can make an impact today, just by sharing all that the Lord has done for you!

Prayer: Lord, help my life to be a living example of Your goodness. Let someone see You in me as I tell of Your healing and how You completely changed my life.
