Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6.

A few years ago in prayer God spoke to my spirit and said, “It’s time for you to walk in your apostolic authority.” I didn’t understand what God meant, so I asked for instruction. He lead me to study this topic and I learned that apostolic authority is walking in the power of God. We need to rely on God, not on ourselves.

We can be paralyzed by the “WHAT IF’S” of life.

  • What if I can’t pay my rent?
  • What if I my family member doesn’t receive healing?
  • What if my child never comes back to God?
  • What if? What if? What if?

However, when I realize what I am allowing in my life and understand that I have power through Jesus—I stand taller, I speak clearer, and I declare the word of the Lord.

Why is this?

It is because I am not relying on my strength and my power to overcome fear, or a temptation, or a sickness that has no cure—BUT I AM RELYING ON THE STRENGTH AND POWER OF JESUS.

When we rely of the power of God who can reverse the doctor’s diagnosis or cover the shame of our sins, then we will experience the miraculous, receive a miracle of healing, and be forgiven of all past wrongs.

When I begin to understand that it is not by my might or my power, but by the spirit of God. Then, I can walk in my apostolic authority because I know who goes before me.

It is time to lay down our insecurities, fears, and logic and it is time to walk in God’s authority! With God’s authority, there is no fear, torment or weakness!

Does this mean that we will have it all together? No. What it means is, when we submit ourselves to the will of God then He, in turn, will be our strength in our weakness.

Your prayers have power. Don’t give up; continue to walk in the authority that God has given you. You will see a victory in your life and in your family. I believe!

This devotion spoke to me as I have had to self-issolate a lot over the last 14 months with compromised immune system due to breast cancer chemo, low WBC count, decisions for bilateral-mastectomy last month only to be told I now need radiation because of 2 infected lymph nodes they removed on the left side. I start that soon…my biggest fear.. So I’ve been hamster wheeling the “why me’s and the what ifs . i told the Lord “I have to do this for my children and their children,it is not in me to quit. But I need You Lord, to hold me through it for you are my strength and my salvation. I will stand tall when I claim my miracle victory. In the name of Jesus Christ . My God. My Savior.

    • Oh sis, I’m sorry for my very delayed reply. I cannot imagine going through what you are facing, but I am going to keep you in my prayers. May you feel the strength of the LORD when you are weak and weary. Continue to claim your miracle and the word of God that is tried and proven. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
