Today we celebrate Mom’s all across the world. We set aside some extra time to say “thank you” for every sacrifice they have made for us, every band-aid they put on our skinned knees and every tear they wiped from our cheeks.
Moms are truly amazing, and they are such a huge part of what makes the world go round. They are smart, comforting and so loving. I have been blessed with an incredibly strong Mother and she is truly one of my best friends.
On the other hand though, I also understand that today is a tough day for some women. The woman who longs to be a Mom but that dream hasn’t been fulfilled yet. The ones who have lost babies and children, and today is just a painful reminder of that. The young woman whose mother perhaps abandoned her at a young age.
We all have had different experiences in life, and for some today is a day of celebration and for others, it’s a sad reminder of what has been lost. Either way, God is with you and He is for you.
He is our strong comforter, and our joy and song in the night. We can be women, who regardless of what life has dealt us, are strong and confident in their God. We can allow ourselves to be clothed with strength and dignity. We can laugh, have hope and trust that as long as we dwell in Him, our future is secure.
Are you hurting today? Give Jesus your broken heart and allow Him to heal and restore.
Are you celebrating today? Give thanks to God who is the source and centre of your joy!
Feeling confused and sad? Place your future in the hands of your very capable, and loving God.
Whatever your circumstance is today, He is with you. He goes before you, and He has your life in His hands. He sees you and cares about what you’re facing today.
God, I’m thankful for another year to celebrate “Moms” I am thankful for Your blessings in my life. Give me strength and wisdom to face this day.
