“Prayer is not eloquence, but earnestness; not the definition of helplessness, but the feeling of it; not figures of speech, but earnestness of soul.” – Hannah More
-
Do you feel weaker in God than you have in the past? Are there times in your life when your commitment to God was stronger? When you prayed more? When you read the Holy Bible more? When you attended church more? Trust in the Lord and you can be strong again.
-
READ: Isaiah 40:31 from the Holy Bible New Century Version, “But the people who trust the Lord will become strong again. They will rise up as an eagle in the sky. They will run and not need rest. They will walk and not become tired.”
-
Prayer: Dear God, I’m sorry I haven’t talked to You much lately. Please forgive me. Today, I recommit myself to You and to the teachings of the Holy Bible. I promise to attend church so that I can learn more about You. I want to trust in You so that I can become strong again. Amen.

“Prayer is a choice. For us to pray to give thanks, or to voice our questions and doubts shows that we are choosing to leave an opening in our spirits. Without this opening, there is no vessel, no place into which God can breathe.” ~Joanna Laufer
“Promises, though they be for a time seemingly delayed, cannot be finally frustrated…. the heart of God is not turned though His face be hid; and prayers are not flung back, though they be not instantly answered.” ~Timothy Cruso

“And I will give thee the treasures of darkness..” (Isaiah 45:3).
-
At first glance, John’s banishment to the Isle of Patmos for his allegiance to the Lord seems a pretty dismal scenario. But on the contrary, in a moment when reality on the outside seemed darkest, John slipped into the reality of the Spirit and received a powerful revelation! God gave John a treasure in the darkness. He showed him the whole picture.
-
If you are experiencing this kind of darkness, I encourage you to get into the Spirit. Start reading the back of God’s book and remind yourself that we are on the winning side! Remember that the captain of our salvation is the Alpha and Omega-the Beginning AND the End. If we will stay in Him He will see us through every dark place until that great and glorious day when we see him face to face! Hallelujah! What a thought!
-
Prayer: Lord, when I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me”, help me to see that even the night shall be light about me; that with you the night shines as the day!

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works? (Hebrews 9:14).
-
Have you ever experienced the delivering power of God in a certain area of your life only to be troubled at a later point in time with some type of blockage? Something deep down that you can’t seem to get at? Then Satan begins his relentless tirade of accusations trying to convince you that you are too full of hang-ups to be fit for God’s service. This is the moment when we must remember the power of the Blood! That it reaches to the highest mountain, and it flows to the lowest valley! In other words-to those hard to reach, dark places that only Jesus can touch and restore. And He will!! Don’t be discouraged, God has a time for everything!
-
Prayer: Lord, when those accusations come -help me to lift up my head and shout, “The blood of Christ is my answer to every challenge and it will never lose its power!!”

“Guide my steps by your word,” (Psalm 119:133).
-
We often compare life to a road. Like physical roads-the road of life is not all smoothly-paved. Along the way we may encounter bumps, twists and detours; and then there are crossroads or intersections where we have to decide whether to go left or right or just continue straight ahead. Our most prized possession on life’s journey is the Word of God. Keep it hidden in the glove compartment of your heart and reach for it frequently. It is the ultimate roadmap-the quintessential GPS. If you make a wrong turn God’s voice will speak through His written Word and get you back on track again. And when the enemy throws up his “No U-Turns allowed” sign”, just look to God’s roadmap. He will make a way where there is no way!!
-
Prayer: Lord, I confess that I cannot navigate through life without you. Help me to reach for and hide your Word in my heart every day so that I will not lose my way!

“By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them…. But others were tortured, refusing to turn from God in order to be set free. They placed their hope in a better life after the resurrection” (Hebrews 11: 33 and 35). There is a popular notion about prayer which assumes that the thing asked for ought to be the object of faith. But the Bible tells us the only absolutes we can trust and be assured of are the character of God, His love, His will that we be conformed to His Son’s likeness and His sovereign control of the universe. If the thing we ask for is not given or it doesn’t happen, our faith may waver and even dissolve. But if faith latches on to the reality of God’s sovereignty; if it believes in the darkest storm that all things work together for good to them that love God, then faith itself becomes our victory regardless of the outcome!
-
Prayer: Lord, help me to put my trust completely in You – to keep my shield of faith lifted high even when Your answer is no, or not yet or wait.

“We must alter our lives in order to alter our hearts, for it is impossible to live one way and pray another”. -William Law
