Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8, NIV)
Being called to a higher level is a compliment from the Lord. In the book of Joshua, God is directing Joshua to take over what Moses began. Can you imagine what kind of responsibility that would be? In the book of Joshua, the Lord tells him if he will meditate on the law and keep His commands, he would be prosperous. I’m sure that provided Joshua with great comfort.
If we are careful to follow the law and listen to the commands set in place from our Father in heaven, we too will be prosperous. The first chapter in Joshua commands us to be courageous. He will direct our path if we trust Him and believe he has our best interest at heart.
Prayer: Thank you for guiding our steps. Help us to trust in you and not veer off the path you have set in place for our lives. In Jesus name, amen.
