“According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it.”

1 Corinthians 3:10 ESV

Brick Wall, Wall, Brick, Red Brick Wall, Masonry

Have you ever felt incapable or under qualified to do what God has called you to do? I’m sure in moments of doubt and weakness, even Paul experienced this. Those moments when fear comes creeping into the back of your mind, and threatens to destroy everything that has been built in your life.

What God has called you to do, you can accomplish. The scripture above lets us know that it’s because of God’s grace. He sees that we are flawed and imperfect, and yet He still chooses US to move His kingdom forward! Paul doesn’t say “Because I am a skilled master builder I laid a foundation” but rather he does say ” LIKE a skilled master builder I laid a foundation” Paul recognized that he was still human, and that kept him humble. He was able to stand before crowds of people and proclaim that Jesus was the Messiah, because he accepted grace daily and realized he could only accomplish so much on his own.

We can do things that are beyond our natural human abilities, through Christ! Maybe God has called you to minister, but fear is holding you captive – through grace, and God’s strength YOU can accomplish that. Maybe memories from your past haunt you, and keep you from meeting your potential, but I encourage you to shake off those heavy chains and accept who you are in Christ. You are a blood bought, child of the King!

Lord, bring back to my memory callings and dreams that I have pushed aside. I rebuke fear in my life, and am making the decision today to move forward in You. It is not too late for me, because Your mercies are new every morning!
