Psalms 114:8
“Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.”
It is impossible to keep it together one hundred percent of the time. Wake up, plaster on that smile everyone expects to see, and go out your door with a skip in your step and joy in your heart. As long as we look like we have it together, people will believe us… right? If we only display the highlight reel, perhaps everyone will forget there may be some bloopers and raw, unedited footage left behind.
Media plays a huge role in our lives in 2020, and most often it is not to our benefit. We see happily married couples, successful children, and people who appear to be living the dream. We most often choose to only show what is good – hiding the fact that our marriage is rocky, our children are rebelling, and we feel defeated before we even get out of bed in the morning.
I have learned over the past year though, that it is okay to be broken, in fact, God desires brokenness. He wants every part of us, the good, the bad, and the ugly. He desires to transform horrible situations into incredible testimonies for HIS glory. God is an artist, and He loves creating something new from something considered unfix-able. We don’t have to put on a brave face and only show God what is going good in our lives – He already knows how we are hurting and struggling to make it through each day.
Give Him your heart today, and allow Him to turn things around!
Lord, I come to you today broken and hurting. I give you all of me, my good and my bad. Please transform these shattered pieces into a beautiful testimony of your power and majesty.
